More dolls!!! Nude Malenas and an elfish princess welcoming the spring!

This is the second elf princess that we made, she has also an engraved tattoo, made similar but not the same as the first one, and also I made the dress with more translucent patches this time, so the tattoo can be seen through the fabric. The hair is viscose in three colors, red, blonde and purple mixed to achieve a veined copper- brown color. More pictures here!!!

These two girls have also viscose wigs; is a very difficult to style material , but it looks so real! The redheaded in the right has a modified waist piece, made by request of the customer.  I packed them a few days ago but I still felt the need of one more picture... I miss all of them but makes me happy to know that soon they will be making happier someone else 😊

Nuevo molde, la muñeca pequeña está nuevamente disponible! New mold! The little original doll is available again!!

Hola a todos! Hoy les presentamos a nuestra muñeca más nueva, hecha con el pequeño cuerpo mejorado Meiko. Esta vez quisimos lograr un tipo de hada más natural y discreta, más inspirada en las criaturas de Froud y el Cristal Encantado, a diferencia de nuestras hadas-ángel más elaboradas y barrocas. También estará disponible como muñeca nude y en blanco.

 Este modelo fué renovado completamente durante este año; originalmente realizada en el año 2012, retomamos las piezas de la pequeña Meiko, largo tiempo descontinuada, y realizamos varios cambios. El pecho es más detallado y delicado, todas las articulaciones se rehicieron por completo para lograr una mejor posabilidad, las manos son más pequeñas, detalladas y expresivas. También se re-esculpieron brazos y piernas. La cabeza es una cabeza de Malena reducida, adaptada para este tamaño.

Los moldes que se utilizan para castear la porcelana están hechos a partir de nuestra escultura original. Se utiliza barbotina de porcelana  no translúcida, con cocción final a  1245 ºC

Esta muñeca tiene 18 puntos de articulación: el cuello, el pecho, las caderas, los tobillos y las muñecas son articulaciones simples, mientras que los brazos y las piernas tienen articulaciones dobles. La muñeca tiene 29 cms. de altura y está ensamblada con cordones elásticos. Las articulaciones están protegidas con cuero natural.

Está pintada con aerógrafo y pequeños pinceles con acrílicos y pasteles y sellada con una laca satinada acrílica para un aspecto más natural. El tatuaje está totalmente pintado a mano, y es un diseño original.

La peluca es fija, hecha con mohair natural.

Las alas son desmontables, construidas con hilo flexible e hilos dorados, son livianas y delicadas.

La corona está bordada con cuentas de vidrio y perlas sintéticas.

Se puede limpiar con un paño suave y húmedo. No intente arañar la superficie de la muñeca o aplicar solventes sobre ella. Si alguna vez le sucede algo a su muñeca, ofrezco un servicio de reparación gratuito para todas sus partes la primera vez. Se le cobrará solo por el envío. Es posible que las nuevas piezas no sean exactamente iguales al original, ya que cada pieza se modifica ligeramente durante el proceso de limpieza antes de la cocción. Es posible que el color de la piel no coincida totalmente con el original, porque el tono se adquiere aplicando  varias capas de pintura translúcida para lograr el tono final.

Incluye un soporte de madera hecho a mano.

This is our newest doll , made with the upgraded little body Meiko. This mold was entirely renewed during this year, the chest is more detailed and delicate, all the joints was completely remade for better posing, the hands are tiny , detailed and more expresive. Arms and legs was re sculpted tooThe head is a reduced Malena head, adapted for this size. 
The porcelain casting molds are made from our original sculpted dolls. The porcelain slip is made out of white porcelain, non translucent, fired at 1245 ºC degrees.
This doll has 18 points of articulation: neck, chest, hips, ankles and wrists are simple joints, while the arms and legs have double joints. The doll is 29 cms. tall and is strung with elastic cords. The joints are protected with natural leather. 

It is painted with aerographer and tiny brushes with acrylics and pastels and sealed with an acrylic satin lacquer for a more natural look. The tattoo is totally hand painted, and it is an original design.
You can ask for more photos of the doll. 

The wig is fixed, made with natural mohair. 
The wings are detachable, constructed with flexible wire and golden threads, they are light and delicate.
The crown is embroidered with glass beads and syntetthic pearls.

It can be cleaned with a soft wet cloth. Do not try to scratch the doll surface or to apply solvents on it. If something ever happens to your doll, i offer free repair service for all of its parts the first time . You will be charged only for the shipping. It is possible that the new pieces will not be exactly equal to the original, since every piece is slightly modified during the cleaning process before fire. It is possible that the colour of the skin will not totally match the original, because i made the blushing with several layers of translucent skin tones to achieve the final tone.

Continuing with the process of the dolls fired during July. The new versions of Summer and Winter are finished and soon will be shipped to their new home. Several Malenas made by request are almost ready too, they need wigs and some accesories. El Lago de los Cisnes, The Swan Lake

Many years ago we saw for the first time a little and misterious porcelain doll, a precious work of art by Marina Bychkova.  We were astound by that particular articulated sculpture and , having being for many years artisans using mixed media, as a continuation for our art  we decided to become dollmakers and make our own porcelain dolls. We are since then exploring the new posibilities of such a complex discipline and when a customer ask us for a doll in certain style, we do not hesitate into accept.

  Marina has been always our inspiration and guide, as well for many other dollartists. Her work literally changed our lives, no one but us respects more her work and that is something we repetedly have admitted. Each request of this kind from a customer, means for us the oportunitie to study and to progress; even if it sounds contradictory, to make a fan art means the oportunitie to develop your own style. For example, for many time I made the tattoos only painted, but now I'm making all of them engraved. The embroidered crown tooks me too much more hours thant I thinked originally and then I had to think how to assemble it and give its final shape. We not only learned through all that extra work but also made us to aprecciatte even more the quality and detail in Marina´s work . All that effort makes me think in how amazingly delicate and excellent is her work , how tall she puts the level for all of us, we have been making dolls for several years and we still feel like principiants in comparison.
 Every artist in this world feeds on the work of other artists, and in the process of took the main elements and revise them in their own way, every one obtains an unique result.

 Some people, nevertheless, gets offended by our work and claimed unjustifiedly that  it was a flagrant copy.

 It is not a duplicate, if it were, it would be an exact copy and it is not the case,  beggining for the materials employed to the execution and the final shape.. The body and head sculptures are our original design and  many samples of the Malena body can be seen in this blog and in our main facebook page, enough to realize that is not a copy of a Marina's doll or of any other doll; the crown is inspired in fact in the crown made by Marina (who made it inspired in the work of another artist, as she mention in her blog) and that is perfectly illustrated by the process pictures, and the veil is a white embroidered bride tulle far away from being equal to the original embroidered by Marina. Our doll includes also an engraved swan tattoo in her back, a mask and a black wig, all details stablished by the customer.

This is an inspired work, not a copy.  We are not claiming this is  our idea, is perfectly clear who made the original one, but this doll in particular is in fact ours and we are the ones who executed the work from the beginning to the end from scratch. We are not recasting pieces, not selling the doll as if it were an original Marina's doll (not to mention asking for her what a Marina's dolls really values) and certainly we are not claiming this is our original idea at all.

Rosenrot, with new upgraded Malena's bodytype , now available with sexy folk lolita outfit

Rosenrot is one of a kind , porcelain art ball jointed doll by Amado-Gravagno. 

She is a modification of our bjd body type Malena and was finished in the month of July, 2018. She is made from our original sculpted doll. She is entirely handmade, therefore , a lot of time and dedication is put in every detail.

This is one of the first copies of the new multi -jointed body .She has a new hip joint and double joints at the hips, providing her a new range of flexible poses. She also has the same delicate, expresive and detailed hands and feet, with french manicure. All the new pieces will be available at the same time and in the case of custom orders you will be able to choose how many and which one extra joints do you want included. The lolita outfit, a little bit going back to our firsts models, is inspired in many folkcloric european outfits, it has some of the Netherlands and some of Bavaria, a lot of child books from our childhood and a little bit from the Rosenrot video from Rammstein . It has many pieces and includes three layered skirts, machine embroidered and embellished with ribbons and lace; a black velvet corsage with trim aplique and crossed ribbons for to close it; a white gatered top with tiny sleeves decorated with tiny handmade satin roses, a top hat in white rased cotton with also handmade satin roses and white stockings.

The ballerina shoes are also handmade, entirely sewn by hand, and I dare to say that are the most graceful fabric shoes I have made until now. It said that practice makes the master :D

The wig is magnetic and made in viscose, styled with intrincate permanent braids.

The ears are holey.

The doll is assembled with elastic cords and the joints are protected with real leather in matching tones.

The stand was specially designed and made for this doll, and allows to show her in many poses. It is lined with velvet in the bottom.

New extra jointed body options for Malena!

Some of you would remember the new master for the Malena body published a few months ago; now a pair of Malenas with two major improvements will be available soon. While they are being finished here are some comparison pictures with the normal Malena body. All of them will be available at the same time and you will be able to choose how many and which one extra joints do you want included in your custom order.

For this first two Malenas we choose to assemble them with a different selection of joints, with the intention of to compare the range of movements that each improvement add to the doll; one of them has only the waist joint added and the second one has both, the waist joint and the double joint at the hips.

At a certain point, every bjd artist should face the dilemma that the adding of extra joints involve, while this extra joints gives the doll a wide range of movement and, because of that, more expresivness, for the other side it implies a break in the flow of the  lines of the body and changes its aesthetique. A more flexible body capable of all kind of posses, is maybe not as natural at the view  like one with lesser joints, in which one the anatomic correctness and elegance of the human form will be more apreciatted. But, that is the enchantment of to sculpt articulated dolls, to have more options give us more chances to explore and experimenting, the original Malena has its own sculptural pleasant elegance and the lens of the camera adores her, but the new ones, with their new options, besides the satisfaction that the design and sculpting process gaves to us, is also a new model that will inspire new characters and more creative oportunities to take them pictures.
