Circe Augusta & Circe Narcissa, muñecas de porcelana fina, ball jointed fine art dolls.

Circe Augusta y Circe Narcissa son dos de las últimas muñecas realizadas. Junto con Circe Aura, que ya se encuentra en su nuevo hogar, las tres fueron hechas con porcelana fina y pintadas con pigmentos de tercer fuego. Ultimamente son más las muñecas realizadas de esta manera que las terminadas con acrílico pero está la opción de hacerlas a pedido con cualquiera de las terminaciones. Aún hay cosas que me resultan muy difíciles de la técnica de pintura de porcelana,  pero los resultados son hermosos y lo mejor es que son permanentes. Además, las tres muñecas fueron realizadas con el cuerpo pequeño Meiko y un nuevo molde de cabeza, Leonardo, hecho a semejanza de la primera Circe, inspirada a su vez en un angel de DaVinci, el que aparece en una de las versiones de la Virgen de las Rocas. La primera Circe, cuyas fotos pueden apreciar en este album de facebook llevó un montón de tiempo en su realización, casi tres años, cuando todavía estaba aprendiendo el manejo de los pigmentos de tercer fuego. Primero se casteó la cabeza y un tiempo más tarde el cuerpo, para ser concluida en Agosto del 2022. Pero su carita era muy especial, ya que era una modificación de un molde existente y me gustó tanto que decidí recrearla. Finalmente este año pude realizar un master, no es exactamente igual porque eso es imposible, pero creo que logré capturar el espíritu de la primera. Junto a ella también creé un master de un rostro angelical muy similar pero durmiente, con sus ojos cerrados, inspirado en una virgen de Rafael, así que, como no, a ese molde lo llamé Rafael, pero todavía no hice ninguna copia de ella.

Augusta y Narcissa están disponibles en este momento como muñecas nude, sin accesorios excepto por la peluca magnética, hechas esta vez con una preciosa fibra de alpaca suri super larga y muy muy suave, una belleza, proveniente de animalitos craidos aquí mismo en Argentina, en la provincia de Buenos Aires. Se pueden encargar con trajes y peinados a gusto del cliente. 

Y como no puedo estar mirándolas en mi escritorio mucho tiempo sin que me pique el bichito de la costura, estoy trabajando en pelucas y trajes para ellas. Hay algunas fotos y un video muy cortito, porque la idea era mostrar una  pequeña parte del bordado pero solamente coser una flor me llevo como seis minutos, es increible que pase tan rápido el tiempo cuando estoy haciendo este trabajo. Primero realizé la base con un relleno de alpaca, no Suri, otra variedad de fibra corta que se usa para fieltrar, pero no me acuerdo el nombre, creo que se pide como alpaca a secas pero cualquier vellón o incluso algodón sirve para el relleno, la idea es crear un volumen preliminar para trabajar sobre él. Una (todavía en veremos) la forré con mohair y la otra con viscosa; a esta última le realizé aplicaciones de trenzas hechas también con viscosa, lúrex y una fibra sintética para darle otra textura, cosidas primero y luego adornadas con perlitas. Las flores están realizadas en acrílico finito (el que se usa para bordado chino) pero también quedarían muy bellas con perlé o mouliné, en punto festón,  y recortadas luego del bastidor, cosidas a la peluca y adornadas con pequeños cristales checos rojos. No me considero fanática del rojo, pero estos tonos oscuros y cálidos de rojo me resultan muy atractivos, debe ser porque no son muy brillantes y contrastan muy bellamente contra el blanco frío de la viscosa. Creo que ameritaría ser combinada con un vestido de terciopelo rojo y unos zapatos dorados, lo estoy pensando.

Me gustaría saber sus opiniones sobre algunas cosas: ¿Con que color y clase de vestido les parecería que combinara esta peluca? ¿Les gustaría saber más sobre como realizar este y otros detalles? Muchas veces me han preguntado por cursos o seminarios, pero no he tenido mucho tiempo para dedicar a realizar tutoriales o contenidos detallados, y también un poco me frena no estar segura de por donde les gustaría que empezara, si por la figura base, por el proceso de la porcelana(la de horno pero la mayor parte de los procesos aplica perfectamente para otros materiales), como hacer peluquitas o ropa o incluso, si alguna muñeca en especial les ha gustado mucho, como hacerla de principio a fin, por ejemplo una geisha o una dama versallesca. Circe Augusta and Circe Narcissa are two of the latest dolls made. Along with Circe Aura, who is already in her new home, all three were made with fine porcelain and painted with third-fired pigments. Lately, more dolls are being made this way than those finished with acrylic, but they can be custom-made with any of the finishes. There are still some things I find very difficult about the porcelain painting technique, but the results are beautiful, and the best part is that they are permanent. Furthermore, all three dolls were made with the small Meiko body and a new head mold, Leonardo, made in the likeness of the first Circe, inspired in turn by a Da Vinci angel, the one that appears in one of the versions of the Virgin of the Rocks. The first Circe, whose photos you can see in this Facebook album, took a long time to make—almost three years—when I was still learning how to use third-fired pigments. First, the head was cast, and later the body, to be completed in August 2022. But her face was very special, as it was a modification of an existing mold, and I liked it so much that I decided to recreate it. Finally, this year, I was able to make a master. It's not exactly the same because that's impossible, but I think I managed to capture the spirit of the first one. Along with her, I also created a master of a very similar angelic face, but sleeping, with her eyes closed, inspired by a Virgin by Raphael. So, of course, I named that mold Rafael, but I haven't made any copies of her yet.

Augusta and Narcissa are currently available as nude dolls, without accessories except for the magnetic wig, made this time with a beautiful, super-long and very, very soft Suri alpaca fiber, a beauty, sourced from animals raised right here in Argentina, in the province of Buenos Aires. They can be ordered with costumes and hairstyles tailored to the client's taste.

And since I can't sit at my desk for long without getting the sewing bug, I'm working on wigs and costumes for them. There are some photos and a very short video, because the idea was to show a small part of the embroidery, but just sewing a flower took me about six minutes. It's incredible how time flies so quickly when I'm working on this project. First, I made the base with alpaca filling—not Suri, another short-fiber variety used for felting, but I can't remember the name. I think it's ordered as plain alpaca, but any fleece or even cotton works for the filling. The idea is to create a preliminary volume to work on. I lined one (still to be seen) with mohair and the other with viscose; on the latter, I made braid appliqués, also made with viscose, lurex, and a synthetic fiber to give it another texture, first sewn and then embellished with pearls. The flowers are made of fine acrylic (the kind used for Chinese embroidery), but they would also look beautiful with perlé or mouliné , in blanket stitch, and then cut from the frame, sewn onto the wig, and adorned with small red Czech crystals. I'm not a fan of red, but these dark, warm shades of red are very appealing to me; it must be because they're not too bright and contrast beautifully against the cool white of the viscose. I think it would be worth pairing with a red velvet dress and gold shoes; I'm thinking about it.
