Medusa, protective goddess.

This was one of the most special and challenging dolls of the gone year. I am very proud of her and hopping that I can make at least a similar doll at any moment. There is still a lot of unedited pictures of her in my folders that will be published during the year. It is a way of to maintain contact with her memory since she is not in my hands anymore. We made special props and scenarios for to take pictures of her and look for new ways to show her. My favourite ones are the imprisoned in chains ones, there is only a few published. The rest will take some time for its processing and publishing.

Working with the snake hair was the best part, even if most of the time I was playing with the chains and imaginning all the possible styles that can be acchieved with that material XDDD
All the little darlings were fixed in place with tons of glue and epoxy, over a hard casket instead of the soft silicon base that usually made for the wigs, and they will not move anymore, but I left three of them loose for to play with them arround the body: 3 I put some super tiny red glass beads in the eyes and added flowers and faceted crystals.

The snakes wig is magnetic and quite heavy for its size! It was necessary to replace some of the elastics of the body for a metal string, so now she is able of to hold the body pose. The earrings are two little flowers too. The bra was being made with copper sheet but changed my mind in the process and finally made it with metallic leaves rescued from old earrings, with a little silicon protection under the bra to avoid scratches in the surface. The body was made from our mermaid mold and severly modified, joining some pieces together , cutting another ones, and creating new ones from scratch. The head was made from our Nubia mold, but modified for to give her a gracefull greek profile.
We are thinking into create a prototype of this character.
I fall in love with her and hope you feel the same for this strong and beautiful protective goddess.
