Survey is closed!!!

Hi everyone! Thank you very much for to participate in my survey 😊 Now that is closed I have counted all the votes made in the insta history, in the FB posts and groups and in other sites were I published it 🙂 The most voted ones were the pale pink and the light purple haired heads with 14 votes each one ( I only counted positive ones on the history) , then the white haired one with 13, dark green with 12, dark purple with 11 votes and finally the green apple girl with 9. Also, I had three suggestions for Moulin Rouge characters, one for gothic style, one for enchantress and one for a goddess, Gaia. So the first two dolls of this serie will be can-can ballerinas and the third one most voted, since there isn't a suggestion about her , will be a green forest spirit. For my next kiln loading I will cast more tiny bodies for to finish the white hair lady , Gaia ( apple green) and the dark purple gothic enchantress ( both suggestions were for that head so I think both concepts can be combined) Thank you very much again for your participation and your lovely comments, I love you people 😚😚😚

Porcelain bjd poll : Fairies, Mouline Rouge or Rococo Style? Suggest a character (could be anything, not just the mentioned :D )

I made something colorful to cheer up my weekend and to take a little break from other projects. I was dragged by a rainbow palette this time and painted all these heads, fascinated by new possibilities, but there are only two sets of small doll pieces available to assemble at the moment so I thought it would be a good idea to do some kind of survey. What do you think? Which one would you like to see finished first and what character do you think it could be? I listen to your suggestions 😊 Please leave a comment below suggesting a character, your feedback will be really appreciatted :) 

 The beautiful hair is a new viscose fiber that I am testing, much silkier than the long fiber that I sometimes use. I totally loved those colors😍 and I couldn't resist making the wigs too. Does anyone else here relax from work by working on the same subject or are my hands too fidgety? Love to all of you and thank you very much for the constant displays of admiration and support. You make my heart smile 😘.

New Dolls Available for the month of July: Tiny Meiko and Malena with with brand new torso and enlargered legs

 

Hi Everyone!  This month there are two new available dolls, "Mermaid Dream", a tiny Meiko with her traditional body, and "Bluebird" a Malena angelus with new bodytype. You can check any of our stores for more info:

They are made with a new porcelain that I have been testing for a long time. It is a recipe that can be easily obtained in internet but it was not so easy as it sounds to make it :P . Even with similar names, minerals change their properties according to the extraction point, so I  tested that recipe with the materials I could gather here in my country and to adapt the recipe until it can work fine in my kiln. This means a lot of trials and errors, several castings, and many many firings with different ranges of temperature everytime. I still has some casting issues, is a more fragile material in the raw stage than the one I was previously using and hands was a real headeache to refine :3! But I am very very happy with it, it has a lovely translucency and a nice warm color. And once fired is more resistant than the usual opaque porcelain of my other dolls, I was able to obtain more thin pieces which makes the dolls weight more light,. That means more posability with less tension of the elastic cords.  At this moment I am still offering dolls painted with acrilics and laquer, but soon I will bee offering a china painted line. 

Both has mohair detachable wigs in ooak colors, shades of green and turquoise and shades of blue. I love to play with colors and experimenting with tints, so pretty unique colors came out from time to time. Some can be repeated, others are not so easy XD.

 The Malena doll has a new bodytype, with longer legs and torso. The legs are also modified for better possing of the doll, I wanted her to pleat totally her legs when sitting on her knees, to bend the body a little more upward and to be able to cross her legs in a more elegant way, all of this without adding any new joint. The first doll I made with this modifications was the Nubian Queen, but in her case I directly modified a casting of Malena. Then this year I made finally prototype pieces with these improves and now every Malena can have this body type. I found her posing too much more expressive now. The Raven Queen as made with this bodytype and you can see part of the process of the master pieces in this article.

Celestya Versailles pastel rococo porcelain doll

Hi everyone! This was a very busy, entertained week, time flies when you are doing something you love and costuming is one of my very favourite part of the whole process of to make a doll from scratch. Actually, this was not planned, I had first the idea of to transform Celestya in a butterfly fairy but then , trying to organize the inmense amount of fabrics , laces , ribbons and tiny little bits of practically everything you can imagine that could be used in a doll( those of you that are artisans will perfectly picture what I mean 😂 ) I found and old embroidered ribbon I was saving since at least... for the last ten years, and voilá!!! A doll corset was born 😁 and of course that couldn't be the end of everything, she needed also stockings and shoes and a new wig 🤗 I am very proud of how these little things turned out, I am constantly strieving for to learn new techniques and found a great way to make the closing of the back of the corset.
